CanPub Information Technologies Inc. develops, markets, and hosts

information. In fact, the CanPub name is derived from the verb can
meaning "enabling" and the word publishing meaning "the act of
communicating information".
This enabling of communication ranges from one-to-one person communication such as email to one-to-many communication as in web site and e-book publishing. It also includes communication technologies such as Wi-Fi wireless, local area networks, and secure SSL (https) links.
We also advise organizations on how best to incorporate technology into their operation. This may be a one-time involvement or we can act as a company's technology department so that they can concentrate on their core expertise and leave the technology issues to us.
Many of CanPub's offerings use the IceSuite set of integrated application programs for its core functions. IceSuite is a robust, cost-effective web based application environment that includes web page building, email, file storage, and contact name and address management functions.
Using the IceSuite platform, our software development team is able to develop vertical applications and host them for your company. Such past applications include:
- Internet Cafe: Handles charging for Internet usage from hardwired or Wi-Fi (wirelessly) connected PCs, typically in an Internet Cafe setting. Supports credit card scanner for optional user charging. When idle, the software displays current snapshots of popular web pages and/or runs ads. (CanPub is a registered member of the international Wi-Fi Zone Alliance?)
- Store Suite: Handles point-of-sale function complete with bar code scanning of items, handling of non-coded items with short customizable codes (such as "SC" to mean small coffee), and more.
