(If you wish to use it in a commercial, educational, institutional, or governmental environment, please contact the author - see the contact info on the home page.) proxy.exe is a Windows program that can act as a proxy or port forwarder between a TCP/IP client and server application, on the client side or server side or both. For example, it can be used to display data passing between the client and server. It runs under Windows 98 or later (98/NT/2000/XP), as a Console Application (command). It is written in C, compiled by Visual C++ 6.0. It is distributed as a "freeware" program. Currently, the source is not distributed. To run it, enter the proxy command, with any required operands and options, in a Windows Command window. For a short description, enter the command without any operands. To open a Command window, use Start --> Run, then enter cmd.exe (Win 2000/XP) or command.com (Win 95/98). There is a Yahoo discussion group, Proxy-DE, for this program. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Proxy-DE where you can read messages posted by users. To post messages or access the Files area, you have to join the group, by clicking on "Join This Group!" near the top of the web page for the group. The group's moderator may have to approve new members (to help prevent spam), so it may take a day or so for your membership to take effect. PLEASE NOTE: This program still requires some development and so some options (notably -w) are not working yet. Download file: proxy_nn.zip (where nn is a version number) For example, proxy_11.zip contains proxy_11.exe for version 1.1. Download proxy_nn.zip, extract the .exe file, and copy it to a directory that is in your Windows execution Path, renaming it to proxy.exe. If the download is provided as a .zip file (e.g. proxy_11.zip), use WinZip (or equivalent) to extract the .exe file from the .zip file.
